The North East Forestry Group represents private forest owners in Cavan, Louth, Meath and Monaghan and has over 100 members. We are the only Private Forest Owners Group to have a Forest Certification Scheme for the last five years. We have held various events since our formation in 2013. Our aim is to inform forest owners of best practice in forestry management and how to achieve maximum return for their timber sales. We recently completed a two-year project funded by the DAFM entitled WOODLAND TO WORKSHOP. This project has helped group members establish new local markets for their hardwoods. We also hold Knowledge Transfer Group programmes, which encourage peer-to-peer learning and collaboration between forest owners.
