The North Midlands Farm Forestry Group (formerly Westmeath Farm Forestry Group) represents farm forest owners primarily in Westmeath and Longford. The group was formed in 2013 and is focused on engaging and educating our members in forest management, various silvicultural practices, timber value and marketing, health and safety in the forest, forest biodiversity and issues relating to forestry in Ireland. Priorities of the group are peer-to-peer learning, network building and social engagement. We organise regular forest visits, training courses, information evenings and demonstrations of forestry operations. We are proud to have several RDS forestry award winners and Farming for Nature Ambassadors in our group.
